چکیده

The increasing risk of the emergence antimicrobial resistance can be addressed using plant-based botanicals as alternatives to antibiotics. In this in vitro study, properties aqueous and methanolic extracts Catha edulis (Miraa) were tested on select pathogenic bacteria fungi agar well diffusion method. Miraa at 1000 mg/ml, 100 mg. ml, 10 mg/ml concentrations significantly inhibited growth all bacterial pathogens except E. coli but did not have an effect C. albicans. largest zones inhibition for observed against S. pneumoniae (28.41 mm), pyogenes (24.27 MRSA (21.86 mm).
